Antiquario Acanto in Rome

Rome is not the favourite place to purchase antiques and some patience is necessary to find what the collector desires: Murano glass, furniture, paintings of old masters, objets d'art, rare silver from the 17th century, sculptures, engravings, photographs, rustic furniture, lamps, decorated vases, etc. Each artistic period is represented: Art Deco, Baroque, Rococo, Art Nouveau, Victorian Style, avant-garde, classical modern trend... .

Via dei Cappellari, via del Pellegrino, via del Babuino, - to mention only a few - offer a wide choice of exquisite art galleries and antique shops. These streets are considered the seat of exclusivity. There are also other places in Rome where art goods can be acquired at reasonable prices. They are usually situated in the lesser known roads and lanes of the old part of the city as well as in the quarters around the Center.

Further possibilities can be found in some of the open markets where lots of amateurs and professional collectors go. The "Mercato delle Stampe" in Largo della fontanella Borghese, where you can look for old engravings, books and photos, is particularly recommended. An (expensive) art fair takes place at Christmas and in spring in via Margutta.

We will accompany you to search your favourite pieces. Our consultation with highly-qualified experts gives you a guarantee with your purchase. If you have any doubts, we can provide a bibliographic search within a few hours in order to assure you about the authenticity of the piece. If needed, we also provide national or international delivery.
